Miniature Sculpting - 25mm - 32mm
My experience in toy sculpting and working with manufacturers gives me insight as to what is needed to create crisp details, for both 3d printing and casting miniatures. I check for any voids and negative spaces which could cause issues down the line. This along with high quality sculpting is why I will deliver premium miniatures.
Statue Sculpting - 75mm - 1/6 scale
Sculpting highly detailed large scale characters requires more than just knowing how to add fine details. At this scale, anatomy is more important than at smaller scales, where anatomical errors are less likely to be noticed or covered up with textural details. My experience in toy sculpting also gave me experience with articulated action figures. Articulating joints is a skill of it’s own. For statues, the joints don’t have to move, but knowing the best way to cut the figure to hide keyed parts is a similar skill to articulating.
Toy Sculpting
Form is most important in toy sculpting, except for perhaps facial detail and accuracy. Every recognizable cartoon character has a unique form of their own, and because they are streamlined characters, any defect in form is easily seen. In the 10 years of sculpting toys, I deliver polished, true to form high quality sculpts. Shown left is a 2 inch batman sculpt I created for Spin Master.
